Pedodiverzita vybraných ekotonů na přechodu lesní porost - palouk na území Školního lesního podniku Masarykův les Křtiny
Bydžovský, Radek
Ecotones and their environments are often referred to as areas of significant diversity that condition the interactions of neighbouring ecosystems. Manifestations of ecotone community diversity can be observed, for example in the species composition of flora and fauna. However, this bachelor thesis examines the characters of the soil environment of this ecosystem and compares it with enviroment of a forest and a meadow. Evaluated soil diversity parameters are active and potential soil reactions, soil catalase enzyme aktivity, C, N, S element content and possible carbonate content. The evaluation of these soil characteristics was carried out in the three selected sites. The significant dynamics of the ecotone environment was confirmed in the case of soil reaction. Catalase also showed different activity rates in the ecotone area. A similar finding was confirmed in the case of the analysed elements C, N and S. Based on the evaluated parameters, the ecotone area shows a significant different character of the soil environment. However, the character and degree of manifestation in ecotone area are very closely linked to the characteristics of the individual habitats.
"The Living Landscape" Project - Czech Perspective
VEBER, Tomáš
This thesis deals with the phenomenon of ecological recovery of ecotone backyard, a specific phenomenon in rural areas of the Czech Republic, focusing on the one hand synchronously, partly diachronic. Theoretically, based on the scientific literature discusses the topic first as a phenomenon in itself, then focuses on the description of the possibilities that may be related to the maintenance or revitalization of the ecotone recover or regain, both in the dimension of eco-environmentalist, and in the dimension of socio-ethnographic.
Village backyards and their ecological and sociological functions
KAŠÍKOVÁ, Kristýna
This thesis deals with the ecological and social functions of village backdyards. Village backyards are the specific environment of villages and form a transition zone between the built-up part of the village and across country. From an ecological point of view it is the ecotone, which arises at the interface of two different habitats and is usually characterized by increased biodiversity. The aim of this dissertation is a description of the " village backdyards " in terms of biodiversity and the countryside and then evaluate their function (meaning) for humans. The fulfillment of this goal was achieved by collecting of insects living in the soil surface pitfall traps, phytosociological surveys and sociological survey by questionnaire survey.
Lines along roads in the open landscape and in the city. Anthropic habitat

Žížaly v ekotonu pole - les
Pižl, Václav ; Zeithaml, J.
The effects of a forest-field ecotone on the density, biomass and species composition of earthworm communities were assessed. Five sites (blocks) differing in type of crop rotation used in the field were studied near Kostelec nad Černými Lesy, Czech Republic. At each block, soil samples were taken in seven parallel rows perpendicular to a transect from the oak forest to the centre of the field. Individual rows were located: in the forest (5 m from the edge), on the foresf edge, and in the field in distances of 5,10, 25, 50, 100 m from the edge of the forest. Six samples were taken in each row in spring 2001. Digging and hand sorting of soil samples, followed by formalin application was used to extract earthworms. Nine species and subspecies of earthworms were identified, among which .i.Aporrectodea caliginosa./i. predominated. Per block, the species number varied from 5 to 7.
